So after a few months of speculation, the iPad 3 has finally came out. Was it worth the wait? Yeah, I'd say so! If you own an iPad 2, I'd stick with it until next year when the iPad 4 is released, but if you don't own an iPad, I would say you better pick this bad boy up. Now without further ado, I now present my review of one of Apple's greatest products to date, the iPad 3. :D
So if you're an average tech geek like myself, you'll find yourself saying, "Well, it looks like the iPad 2. What could apple have possibly done to outdo its predecessor?" Let me start off by stating that this "beastly" 9.7 inch tablet has the best resolution of any handheld device. Ever.
For all you non-tech peeps, I will give you an example of the resolution.
As you can see from this picture above , the iPad 3 has the best resolution of all time. The resolution is 2048-by-1536, and has 3.1 million pixels. To put that into perspective, that's four times the amount of pixels in iPad 2, and one million more than an HDTV. Wowzers!

Not only does the gorgeous display give everyone the goosebumps, but just imagine playing Angry Birds on that... Amazing. Nuff said. But with the gaming comes a huge boost in the GPU area. The iPad 3 now comes with A5X chip with quad core graphic drives. Surprisingly, Apple didn't jump ship yet to the A6 quad core chip, but this A5X souped up version will do just fine! Also, for all you other tablet users, this A5X chip is four times more powerful than Nvida's Tegra 3 chip. Boom! :)
The two things that disappointed me about this year's model was the fact that they still have the same Apple home button as previous models have. The second thing that disappointed me was the fact that the front camera is still .3 MP. Shake my head, come on Apple, upgrade this to facetime HD!
To wrap things up, the iPad also comes standard with 4G LTE, the first for Apple products, now hopefully they integrate that with the iPhone 5. Also, the iPad 3 now comes with a 5MP camera on the back of it. Lastly, if you plan on taking a long road trip or flight, or just want to go to the bedroom and watch a movie, this new model lasts up to 10 hours.
I sure can't wait to get my hands on one of these. They are released on March 16. My birthday's the 17th, anyone willing to buy me one? :)
As seen in the previous post, my fiance and I have been discussing on how we'll be decorating our (as of yet unpurchased) house, and we've been trying to incorporate both aspects we like into an antique/modern look. Today, I'll be showing you the modern living rooms that I'd enjoy living in. As Chelsea would like to put it.. "A cold museum living room" :) Since I live in Iowa, most people enjoy country/antique homes, and there is nothing wrong with that, but I am a person who likes an uncluttered place, and I cringe at the sight of a whole room with antiques. I LOVE antiques, but there's a limit to how much I can handle.
Modern Design - Clean, sleek, and artsy. The modern style is characterized by a neutral color palette, strong geometric shapes and asymmetry. The most common features that a modern style room/house has are white walls and neutral tone-on-tone color schemes.
Fireplace!! Yes, I'd love to have a house with a fireplace, and this is kind of the ideal look I'd love for it to have. It also has room for the wood underneath it, talk about convenient. Also, I don't find the blue oval on the wall attractive, but my artsy style enjoys the black broken fragments on the wall. Also, I enjoy the uncluttered feeling, isn't it nice?
So, I actually posted this one for Chelsea as a compromise for a entertainment center/wall. Those shelves would be excellent for DVDs/Books. The entertainment center is the main focus, and with all the unique shelving, it definitely has some artistic attributes. PLUS.. I'm digging the black and white picture on the wall :)
Minus the whole DJ setup (Really? Who puts a DJ/Recording booth in a living room?), I love everything about that. The lighting is what did me in on this, I enjoyed how they used lighting behind the guitars on the wall, it puts a lot more focus on them and brightens them up.
Well, the main reason that I love this living room is that amazing setup for TV and speakers. The white chairs in the left, the light fixture, and the shelves on the right are just the icing on the cake for this room. I take that back... icing on the cake would have an apple computer on the table :)
Brick walls.. They're a weakness, I don't know why I get all giddy at brick walls in a house, but I just love the look of them, and it provides a great backdrop to the entertainment center. Also it kind of reminds me of a studio apartment in New York or Los Angeles.
Okay, so those are a few of the idealistic designs that I would like (and I'm sure Chelsea would LOVE) to have. :)
Here are a couple of pictures of what I would LOVE to have if I was SUPER RICH and just felt like wasting money on.
I know they're silly, but man.. wouldn't either of these rooms be cool to have if you were rich?
Ahh.. Blogging.. Something that I never thought I'd do until I met Chelsea. Hmm.. Interesting how someone can change your views on something. :) Anyways.. I probably won't be posting nearly as much as my fiance, but when I do.. I'm going to make damn sure it's top notch.
It's that time of the year, when the best of the best head against once another... Puppy Bowl 2012. I've been watching the Puppy Bowl for the last few years, and I can't seem to get over how cute it is. It's becoming an annual tradition, and it really passes the time before the actual big game. If you haven't caught the Puppy Bowl before then I'll go over the basic format of the game for you. It consists of a number of puppies playing around in an Animal Planet Stadium that is built just for them. and they also have cheerleaders which consist of little bunnies, chickens, and piggies. Also, the Puppy Bowl even includes a real referee, who occasionally tosses the flag on the puppies when they're playing around with one another, and a Kitty Half-Time Show. There are a whole bunch of doohickeys that are involved in the game such as the "bowl cam", which provides shots of the puppy taking a water break. It's just an enjoyable time to sit back and watch some puppies play around. :)
Top 5 Reasons to Watch Puppy Bowl VIII
1) Puppies - Who doesn't want to watch a bunch of fun, loving puppies frolicking around? Everyone loves these little fellas, and it can turn anyone's frown upside down.Puppies set on a football field with a football shaped chew toys, and other puppy toys, and watch these puppies run, chew and play their way to the end zone.
2) Kitty Half Time Show - Surprisingly, this was the one of the cutest parts of the whole fiasco. The adorable kittens provide us with quite the half time show by doing what kittens do best - play with cat toys, wrestle with each other and just sit there and look precious.
Here's the 2010 Kitty Half-Time Show:
3) Commercials - You wouldn't think that the commercials during the Puppy Bowl would be much, would you? You were probably thinking of the depressing homeless animals commercial, or Pedigree dog food commercials.. Wrong. Animal Planet!
4) Shelter Awareness - The whole point behind this event is to provide more awareness for animal shelters. I know everyone's seen those heartbreaking commercials with abused, neglected, homeless animals, so why not take a few minutes and save a pup or two.
5) The "Football" aspect - I love the fact that it's practically all puppies, but I love the fact they incorporate football terminology in it. :) I'm so glad that Animal Planet brought this to us for our viewing pleasure, it was well worth it.
